The Perfect Products for Rosacea: Avene AntiRougeurs

The National Rosacea Society (NRS) has designated April as Rosacea Awareness Month and we here at beautystoredepot want to provide our followers with the latest information regarding this skin condition.  Many of you may be asking what exactly is rosacea?  Rosacea is a common, but poorly misunderstood skin disorder that affects over 16 million Americans and MOST of them do not even know it!  Rosacea most commonly occurs after the age of 30 as redness on the cheeks, nose, chin, or forehead and in some cases can also appear on the chest, neck, scalp, and even ears.  If left untreated, the redness will worsen, blood vessels can begin to appear, and bumps and/or pimples may even develop.  Often times the redness will come and go over periods of time.  In severe cases, the nose can become swollen and bumpy due to excess tissue and eyes can also become affected with redness and irritation.  Fairer complected individuals seem to be at higher risk with primarily women being diagnosed with the condition.  Unfortunately, there is no cure for rosacea, but there are treatment options available.

Early detection and treatment can make a great deal of difference.  If you are fairer complected and have times of redness or flushing that come and go, I would recommend starting to treat these issues and/or consult a dermatologist or medical aesthetician.  Rosacea typically begins with these symptoms and then worsens over time.  With a daily regime in place, you can help prevent the symptoms from worsening and also alleviate any discomfort, minimize redness and swelling, and soothe heat sensations.

April is Rosacea Awareness Month

One of our absolute favorite "go to" brands for redness and rosacea products is Avene. Avene offers a fabulous skin regime including a cleanser, sunscreen, mask, and concentrate specifically formulated for redness prone skin.  The Avene Antirougeurs Redness Relief Dermo-Cleansing Milk is formulated to directly address the sensitivities of redness prone skin.  The unique combination of ingredients (including the exclusive Avene Thermal Water) work together to gently remove impurities and makeup while also providing comfort, improvements in overall vein health, and helps to minimize the appearance of redness and heat sensations.  There's a reason why Allure magazine voted this a Best of Beauty Award winner in 2010!

We all know that sun protection is an absolute must, but it is even more so for those with redness prone skin.  The Avene Antirougeurs Day Redness Relief Soothing Cream SPF 25 will not only provide you broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, but will also neutralize and minimize redness while improving circulation AND is clinically proven to reduce the amount of recurrences of flushing and blushing.  Remember, as with any sunblock or suncreen, make sure to reapply this product every two hours when in direct sun exposure.

An absolute must-have product to treat redness directly is the Avene Antirougeurs Fort Relief Concentrate for Chronic Redness.   This concentrate is an intense treatment that increases microcirculation which is important because rosacea is believed to be a microcirculatory disturbance of facial veins.  In addition, this product will decrease the skin's reaction to triggers (spicy foods, hot liquids, etc are often triggers for flushing) while also reducing the appearance of current redness on your skin.  This product is also an Allure Best of Beauty Award winner of 2012, has been featured on the Today Show and is a HOT PRODUCT on our site and for a slew of our clients.

Many times redness and/or rosacea come with mild to severe discomfort.  Avene Antirougeurs Calm Soothing Repair Mask is an ultra-soothing mask that provides immediate relief.  The mask will not only cool and calm irritated skin, but will also begin to restore and repair the skin.  Even better?  The incredibly soft texture provides easy and a non-irritating application.

Our Medical Aesthetician/Laser Specialist recommends these products regularly.  For severe cases FotoFacials can also be incredibly helpful.  Remember, our helpful and professional staff is always available to assist you with product recommendations and answer any of your skincare questions.

The Antirougeurs products were also featured on the Today Show last year.  Check it out here.

Your post very interesting, nowadays lots of beauty products are easily available online as well as beauty stores. But the fact is that these skin care must be free from alcohol, alcohol may harm our skin and cause infection too. So that I prefer to use only natural skin products.

I have had rosacea for 16 years. I am currently using Dermalogica which is amazing but expensive. I have tried Avene before and would love to try it again as it was the only other range that ever worked.
